This place is a hidden gem, I truly hope this place does very well. Its my favourite campsite to date and we’ll definitely be coming back. Rikki and Karen really know what real camping is all about, trust me they’ve thought of everything. Don’t just take my word for it, check this place out for yourself.
Just spent a peaceful week here with my other half. The site is open and spacious, with generous sized pitches. There is a glamping feel- the kitchen area is quite chic and the composting toilet is very stylish. There is a fire pit, and barbecues, and and barn full of the owner’s camping equipment which can be borrowed in an emergency – as we did when we found our airbed totally flat at midnight after patching it earlier in the day! We spent our time in the local area, walking on the mountains, wild swimming in the river or just lazing around on site. The owners are lovely and very helpful, and we definitely will be back.
My husband and I stayed for an idyllic week in mid-summer watching the Red Kites and Buzzards, bats, Swallows, Blackbirds and so much else as we lazed outside our tent. The views are wonderful and the peace of the countryside is a balm to the soul. We went wild swimming in the river, walked in Brechfa Forest and ate fresh eggs from truly free range chickens. The baker’s in the nearby village was to die for – esp the doughnuts. Karen and Rikki were superb hosts, friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The composting loo was really good, the washing up facilities great and there is an electric kettle too for quick cuppas. A fridge freezer is on hand for your use as well as books, games, maps and the owner’s personal camping gear in case of emergencies…such as finding your airbed is as flat as a pancake at midnight. So glad that was to hand!
And for every membership to the Greener Camping Club the site is given a tree to be planted – an absolute bargain at only £10.
