Liked: Wonderful site in idyllic valley. So quiet but so well equipped. My hosts Karen and Rikki are awesome! Such a generous lovely welcoming couple nothing is too much trouble for them. You must have the full cooked breakfast. Veggie or Carne. Brought to your tent when you want it. Delivered in style, piping hot with your choice of beverage. A smashing touch. There is a ready supply of fruit and veg to pick from and the facilities are spotlessly clean. The lavatory and shower are basic but wonderful. The shower was hot, strong and spacious. If you would like a fire pit and logs they’ve got a selection and if you’ve forgotten anything Karen and Rikki will have it or they’ll get it for you. They even took a hiking couple to the shops for supplies! Can’t recommend the Old Post Office enough! Just pitch Perfect!

Fantastic and unique campsite with incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts.
We read glowing reviews before booking and can say that they were all very accurate.

Karen and Rikki were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The campsite is in a beautiful location and close to many points of interest.

You can tell that the site owners frequently camped for their holidays as they had thought of everything. A well stocked shed had absolutely anything you would need! Games, matches, tables, sleeping bags, even a spare tent!

The site was in a dark skies area. So we were lucky to have beautiful sites of the night sky and the milky way. It was also incredibly quiet and peaceful. Karen and Rikki have created a rare and niche place which is ideal for a relaxing camping trip.

The breakfasts were incredible, and to be able to book a full English whilst camping is pretty special!

There was a lot of care into the eco aspect of the campsite too. It was our first experience of using a compost toilet but we were both pleasantly surprised as everything was neat, tidy and clean. The polytunnel with freshly grown veg and herbs which you could help yourself too and contribute to the honesty box was another very special touch. We will definitely be returning to this special place and can fully recommend! Book now to avoid disappointment .

Thanks for a lovely stay Karen and Rikki!

This is one of the loveliest campsites I have stayed at. Karen and Rikki were so helpful and kind. I had a coffee on arrival which was so welcome after the drive. As an extra you can have a full English breakfast delivered to your tent, I had a veggie one and it was awesome. In fact I had two which sets you up totally for a hard day hiking (or sight seeing). The site is beautifully kept and it was exactly as they described on their website. A real gem of a find and such a peaceful location. I would definitely recommend it and I will be returning.

What a wonderful two nights we’ve just spent at Karen and Rikki’s eco friendly campsite. They are perfect hosts-kindly and welcoming, they really have thought of everything you might need, and it is a complete delight to camp in their fields in deepest Carmarthenshire, close to the river with lovely views of the surrounding hills and woodland. Red kites soaring overhead. The most delicious cooked breakfast delivered, piping hot, to the tent and the loan of a hot water bottle. Bliss.

We left completely relaxed and are already planning to return. Thank you

Liked: What an idyllic spot, a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life! We spent a fabulous 4 days camping here, surrounded by amazing views, starry nights and space (we actually had our own field!). The site itself is immaculate and so well thought out. We loved the organic veg patch and picking our own salad leaves, not to mention the free range eggs. And the hosts Karen and Rikki were so welcoming and helpful, we couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

Highly recommend if your looking for an exceptional campsite for peace and quiet, escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we will definitely be returning!

Karen and Rikki were just amazing and so thoughtful welcoming us with hot drinks, giving us the choice where we wanted to pitch, giving us the use of the outbuilding to hang up and keep our motorbike clothing dry, providing a very good value for money cooked breakfast which we ordered the day before, all fresh, locally sourced produce, the eggs were so tasty from their beautiful rescue chickens!

I loved the huge private shower the water was hot and powerful.

We can’t explain how great our stay was, thank you Karen and Rikki you went above and beyond and nothing was ever too much trouble, going out of your way to make sure we had everything we needed, a fire pit, kindling and logs, including a marquee when rain had been forecast so we could sit out and enjoy our last evening by the fire!

Just back from a 3 night break at this lovely campsite – definitely the nicest site we have ever been on and we have done a lot of camping.

If you want peace and tranquility then this is the place for you – two large meadows so plenty of room to pitch where you want. Amazing views, red kites and buzzards overhead, firepits available and wonderful walks from the site.

New for this season, Karen and Rikki have built a fantastic shower which was hot and powerful and a great addition. We had the most amazing homecooked breakfast, cooked by Karen, using local sourced ingredients and delivered to our tent piping hot – it was absolutely delicious.

We are hoping to visit again this year as still so much to see and do in the local area.

Karen and Rikki were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.

As our 3 day stay went on I was more convinced that TOPO campsite is less a camping business, more a vehicle to spread joy and happiness in the world!

Karen and Rikki were fantastic hosts who couldn’t be more helpful or welcoming – even providing some much needed and very appreciated extra cover for our tiny tent as the weather that weekend was threatening to be really bad.

Everything about the campsite is so well thought out and designed – you can tell its a labour of love. The shower in particular is a highlight. And you should definitely go for the cooked breakfast at least one day that you are there – with proper Welsh bacon – the thickness of gammon. Its all so well presented and delicious.

The wildlife is also ridiculously good, seeing a red kite flying low on more than one occasion during our stay.

We’d also recommend a visit to Farmyard Nurseries – the carnivorous plants were a highlight.

We had a fab stay and will definitely be back again.

To say Rikki and Karen go above and beyond for their campers is an understatement. This is myself and my partners first big camping trip far away from our home! We stayed at another camp sight the previous night (as we’re travelling around Wales) which was a wonderful experience but it is definitely fair to say that Rikki and Karen have raised the bar for camping.

The facilities, their personal helpfulness, their WARM welcome (metaphorically but still always nice in rainy wales), the set up of the camp sight! All remarkable. They even went out of their way to buy my partner lactose free milk for our arrival so we could have tea!! Best welcome ever!

It was nothing short of a pleasure to meet Rikki and Karen and their family of beautiful cats & chickens! And quite the honour to stay at their camp sight.

Hands down the nicest human beings we’ve possibly ever met.

Thank you for making our second night on our first camping trip a comfortable one! You pair of legends.

We didn’t stay for long enough, wish we stayed here for a couple of nights instead of staying somewhere else another night!

This place was amazing. It was very peaceful and plenty of wildlife around. Karen and Rikki were very helpful and friendly, no problems booking with them or concerns with the current predicament in the UK. Definitely get the breakfast if offered! Will want to camp here again!

Fantastic scenery and hosts. A place to get away from it all for some peace and quiet. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this campsite, it is the best campsite we have stayed at. Karen and Rikki are superb hosts and are happy to help with anything that you might need but also strike the balance of giving you the space to enjoy the peace and quiet of the campsite. We will definitely be heading back.

The site has a quiet peaceful atmosphere with plenty of space. Everything is meticulously clean, tidy and well-organised.The owners are very helpful and provided great information such as OS maps and walking guides to the local areas. You also can borrow fire pits and have access to a fridge and electric kettle. You can also help yourself (for a small donation)to home grown veg and fresh free range eggs. Thoroughly recommended.

July 2019

Just spent a peaceful week here with my other half. The site is open and spacious, with generous sized pitches. There is a glamping feel- the kitchen area is quite chic and the composting toilet is very stylish. There is a fire pit, and barbecues, and barn full of the owner’s camping equipment which can be borrowed in an emergency – as we did when we found our airbed totally flat at midnight after patching it earlier in the day! We spent our time in the local area, walking on the mountains, wild swimming in the river or just lazing around on site. The owners are lovely and very helpful, and we definitely will be back.

June 2019

My husband and I stayed for an idyllic week in mid-summer watching the Red Kites and Buzzards, bats, Swallows, Blackbirds and so much else as we lazed outside our tent. The views are wonderful and the peace of the countryside is a balm to the soul. We went wild swimming in the river, walked in Brechfa Forest and ate fresh eggs from truly free range chickens. The baker’s in the nearby village was to die for – esp the doughnuts. Karen and Rikki were superb hosts, friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. The composting loo was really good, the washing up facilities great and there is an electric kettle too for quick cuppas. A fridge freezer is on hand for your use as well as books, games, maps and the owner’s personal camping gear in case of emergencies…such as finding your airbed is as flat as a pancake at midnight. So glad that was to hand!

And for every membership to the Greener Camping Club the site is given a tree to be planted – an absolute bargain at only £10.

Enjoyed a really quite few days, such a lovely site.

This place is a hidden gem, I truly hope this place does very well. Its my favourite campsite to date and we’ll definitely be coming back. Rikki and Karen really know what real camping is all about, trust me they’ve thought of everything. Don’t just take my word for it, check this place out for yourself.
